WHO:
ANY PTA MEMBER including Unit & Council Advocacy/Legislative Reps, PTA Presidents, School Board Trustees and Superintendents.
Attendees must be:
- Current PTA members in good standing.
- Voted as representatives by a PTA unit or council, if unit or Council paying.
- 18+ years old or High School student accompanied by a parent.
WHAT:
Sacramento Safari is Fourth District PTA’s annual two-day advocacy trip to our State Capitol. Orange County PTA members get to hear from key speakers on issues that affect children, youth and families; learn about the inner workings of state government; advocate directly to our legislators; and network with other PTA advocates. This is a highly informative fascinating two days!
WHEN:
Starts Monday morning at 10:00am, February 26, 2024, in Sacramento; ends at 5 p.m. on Tuesday February 27, 2024. (Orientation meeting is 9:30 a.m. February 20 – please reserve that date as well)
WHERE:
Embassy Suites Hotel, Sacramento & the California State Capitol.
WHY:
Because PTA is a child advocacy organization. We speak up for kids! Don’t miss this important PTA leadership development opportunity.
BUDGET:
Plan on $900 total
- Registration $450 per person double occupancy, or $550 single occupancy
- PTA unit or council pays for airfare, ground transportation/parking, Tuesday lunch/dinner
REGISTRATION:
- Credit card or checks accepted
- Registration closes February 4, 2024, or when 100 places are filled.
- Registration fee includes:
- One night at the Embassy Suites, Sacramento
- Lunch & dinner on Monday, breakfast on Tuesday
- Conference materials
- Admission to presentations
- Legislative advocacy visit to Capitol to speak up for kids & education
- Fully refundable registration fee until January 31, 2024; after that it is transferable if you find a replacement for yourself and your PTA votes to approve the new person.
HOW:
- Have your PTA budget approximately $900 for each Safari attendee.
- Your PTA must vote to send a representative.
- Register below starting December 1st, 2023
- Check flight costs to ensure best savings.
- Report back to your PTA about what you learned, how it went and what comes next!
