Councils Recognized for Outstanding Membership Increases
SANTA ANA, Calif. (December 6, 2007) — Seven councils were recognized for their outstanding performances in membership at the Fourth District PTA general meeting today. Kim Axene, president of Irvine Unified Council, received a first place award for being the first to turn in her president’s report and for being one of two councils to exceed last year’s membership numbers. The other council that has exceeded last year’s membership is Laguna Beach Council, led by President Kerry Rubel. In the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified Council, 62 percent of units increased their membership over last year. President Sylvia Derby accepted the award. Capistrano Unified Council saw 46 percent of its units increase their membership over last year. Fran Sdao accepted the award on behalf of President Barbara Shangraw. President Debbie Rosell received an award for Brea Council, which had 43 percent of their units with increased membership. Also recognized at the meeting was Tustin Council, and President Jerry Rothblum, for increased membership in 43 percent of the units; and Garden Grove Council, President Shellese Ash, for increased membership in 57 percent of units. “And this is just with the first membership remittance!” said Fourth District PTA President Patty Christiansen. |
