This is a terrific chance to learn about education policy and about the workings of our state government. We meet some of the fine volunteers who serve as advocates at the capitol on behalf of PTA. We get firsthand impressions of our elected representatives. We bring our pro-children message right to the capitol.
All of us on the 4th District A-Team (Advocacy Committee) look forward to our Sacramento adventures with you in March. Don’t hesitate to email or call if you have questions.

The Trip:
Monday, March 22nd
5:45 am—Arrive at Long Beach Airport
Group airline tickets between Long Beach and Sacramento, bus to Embassy Suites. Lunch and afternoon talks with CA State PTA advocates and various policy experts. Check into the hotel and refresh. Discussion and preparation for visits to legislators in the morning. Dinner with keynote speaker.
Tuesday, March 23rd
Breakfast buffet at hotel.
Walk to the capitol from the hotel, which is less than a mile. (People with mobility difficulties should budget a little more for two taxi fares.) Scheduled appointments with Orange County legislators & additional informational speakers.
Return to the hotel to meet buses to the airport. Dinner on your own at the airport before the flight.
Approximately 8:32 pm—Return to Long Beach Airport
Note on airport: We are leaving from the Long Beach airport again this year because JetBlue had the best price for our group flights, and we’re trying to keep down costs. It is a small airport with very close, inexpensive parking.
